In 2007 we were delighted to be invited to attend The Retas once again. The Casablanca-themed event, held at the beautiful Savoy Hotel in the Strand, London, was presented by Progressive Greetings, a leading greeting card trade magazine, and sponsored by a host of well-known card publishers. All the branch managers went along and, having been nominated for three awards, House of Cards was delighted to receive two: "Best Greeting Card Initiative or Display" and "Independent Greeting Card Retailer of the Year" - a highly coveted award! |

Miles Robinson, co-owner of House of Cards, spoke highly of our large team of staff in an interview for the popular greeting card magazine “Progressive Greetings”: “After the Retas awards we sent flowers and champagne to every single member of staff (all 47 of them!) as a “thank you” and to congratulate them all on our wins. This went down very well. To my mind, the most important aspect of winning a Reta is what it can do for your company morale and motivation. These positive effects far outweigh any consumer gain through any local press coverage We also promoted our wins by producing some large montage posters – combining the Casablanca theme of the event and highlighting our two Retas wins – which we displayed in all our stores’ windows around the end of August, and circulated our The Retas trophies. We Reta-ified three shops at a time using our three awards.” In 2005 House of Cards attended the first year of “The Retas”, a glamorous event that mirrors the Brit Awards in the greeting card retailers’ world. We were incredibly proud to be awarded with the “Best Small Multiple Group in the UK” award! |
