All about the card and gift industry awards we have won in the past!
House of Cards have been nominated for, and won many prestigious awards over their many years of trading. We are proud to have been a finalist for a Reta award every year since they began in 2005!
2015 saw House of Cards win the highly coveted award at The Retas for "Best Greeting Card Retailer Initiative" for it's Ladder Club initiative. Part of the celebrations around House of Cards 25th Anniversary, the initiative gave some valuable retail exposure and raised money for The Children’s Trust charity to boot. The Ladder Club was launched over sixteen years ago by Lynn Tait as a not for profit initiative to help budding greeting card publishers who are thinking of 'stepping' onto the greeting card 'ladder' and this clever concept from House of Cards was a highly regarded scheme which benefitted Ladder Club members as well as raising money for charity.
This was our 9th year of being nominated for the highly coveted Reta for "Best Small Multiple"!
The Retas this year took on a 1920s Great Gatsby theme and was hosted by celebrity and comedian Henning Wehn. We were delighted to yet again be nominated for two Retas: "Best Small Multiple" and "Best Retail Initiative". We took home the award for Best Small Multiple and enjoyed the celebrations at The Dorchester in London!
House of Cards is one of the best greeting card retailers in the UK – it’s official! All the finalists in this years Reta awards for retail categories were arrived at as a result of huge nationwide nomination process. Earlier in the year, UK greeting card publishers, card reps and agents nominated the retailers that they felt to be the worthy winners in each of the categories. House of Cards beat off the competition to become a finalist in the Best Small Multiple award and although we didn't win the award, we were thrilled to take part and attend the awards ceremony, held in The Dorchester in London with a theme of Hollywood Classics.
This year House of Cards were nominated for two Retas: "Best Small Multiple" and "Best Retail Initiative" (with our Waldo Pancake promotion)!

We were the proud recipients of the latter award for our 20th anniversary promotion, which took place in April and raised close to £3000 for charities local to our branches. All the branch managers went along and, having been nominated for three awards, House of Cards was delighted to receive two: "Best Greeting Card Initiative or Display" and "Independent Greeting Card Retailer of the Year" - a highly coveted award!|
